SERVICE & REPAIR

SERVICE PLANS & EMERGENCY CALL-OUTS

Coffee machines are sophisticated pieces of equipment that require regular servicing and maintenance to keep them in top working condition, as well as maintaining their safety.

Servicing

We highly recommend that all coffee machines are serviced annually. Coffee machines are expensive pieces of engineering, comprised of intricate parts, so regular scheduled maintenance will be required to prevent issues relating to wear and tear and even persistent common problems.

By maintain a regular servicing schedule, it helps extend their working lives, while also ensuring the consistency of the coffees that you are serving. By maintaining a service schedule, it also helps reduce the chance of breakdowns and profit draining periods of downtime.

Our machine servicing is normally carried out at your premises, and we will make every endeavour to attend at the date and time that is most convenient for you and usually takes no longer than a couple of hours.

What Does a Coffee Machine Service Include?

  • A check of all general machine settings, and an adjustment if required

  • The replacement of all necessary washers, shower plates, seals, group heads and gaskets

  • A strip and clean of the group head(s)

  • A strip, check, thorough clean and replacement (if necessary) of the steam and water arm(s) and valves

  • Advice on the overall condition of the machine and the recommendation about any repairs and services that may be needed

We can also perform a number of other useful inspections and checks in additional coffee machine service package. These include:

Calcium Treatment Unit Replacement

Calcium treatment units (CTUs) ensure that your coffee machine is not damaged through the continued accumulation of limescale.

Varying water hardness will have an effect on the longevity of your machine. A calcium treatment unit reduces chlorine, magnesium carbonate, calcium carbonate and heavy metals in the water. This reduces limescale build-up, but also has the added benefit of improving the quality and taste of the water being used for your drinks.

Limescale build up is the primary source of most brewing equipment faults, in addition to this, the amount of energy that is wasted by the unit / boiler due to limescale build up means that your machine isn’t working efficiently and costing you more in your energy bills.

We recommend that you should change your water filters on an annual basis, although if you have a high number of daily covers, we might recommended that filter changes are carried out more frequently.

We can supply, fit and replace calcium treatment units for all coffee machines, either with or without having a service.

Boiler Inspections

The Health & Safety Act of 1974 requires that all work equipment must comply with existing statutory workplace legislation. In order to adhere to this, your coffee machine’s boiler therefore requires a periodic examination from a qualified boiler technician (inspector) and be issued with a safety certificate.

A boiler inspection is a requirement of the Pressure Systems Safety Regulation bill which was passed in 2000, and needs to be carried out in accordance with a “written scheme of examination.” If you don’t have a current certificate issued by an accredited technician, an environmental officer legally require you to cease using the unit. We can offer this inspection alongside your coffee machine’s regular service.

We will also service any coffee machine, regardless of if you purchased your machine from us, our servicing is available to anyone whole requires it.
